In order to make any money online, you need some form of web presence. Now that doesn't necessarily mean you need a website, because there are many alternatives to your own website that I discuss in other articles such as blogging, affiliates, etc. But if you want to get serious about making money online, you will eventually have to get yourself sorted out with a website. Some of you might know how to program in HTML or PHP, whereas other will not. Some of you might buy one of the millions of website templates that are widely available online, or even one of the instant templates that you can get these days. Designing a website can take hours and hours of your precious time. In some cases it can take weeks to get the site published, and even then you might only have 5 or 6 pages. If you're into Adsense, you will want to have as many pages to your website as possible. If you have articles on your site, split them down into 3 or 4 pages so the reader will see more adsense ads.
I have created several websites from scratch with RSS articles as content, sprinkled with adsense and affiliate links. Each one can take a few days to get up and running because it takes time to collect relevant articles. Then one day everything changed for me when I stumbled across a site building program that did all of this for me.
I can now create a 200 page, highly optimized and monetized website, upload and publish it online within a mere 30 minutes. I then have an indexing strategy which helps get these sites indexed very quickly.
There is no doubt in my mind that you should leave the act of building websites to software, whilst you can spend your time looking for profitable niche areas. This is what I do. I look for one new niche every week and collect images and affiliate programs relevant to it. I then set up several niche related sub-domains on one or more of my sites, and create several of these websites all targeting this niche market. Because the adsense and affiliate links are pre-programmed into the website templates, I know that every page in each website could potentially earn me money.

And another question . . . .
Why do marketers love blogs? Numerous reasons. They are simple to create and maintain. They afford the opportunity to publish links to other sites, and to the interior pages of other sites. Their popularity with human visitors makes them natural targets for traffic. Their constantly changing content attracts the search engine spiders, which then follow the links that they find, and index the pages of other websites.
Many savvy internet marketing experts have suggested that the best way to capture an audience of potential customers is to provide them free information, either through a “content site” that does little direct selling, or through publication of an informative email newsletter that gives free information and at most employs a “soft sell” when endorsing products.
A blog is the perfect blend of the two. It has often been suggested that the best way to start an online business is with a free newsletter, which allows you to develop your “list”. While a blog doesn't develop your “list” in quite the same way, it does afford you the opportunity to develop a loyal following among your readers, which accomplishes much the same purpose as having a “list”.
Whether you announce or endorse a product through an email list or a blog, you are announcing it to people who want to hear what you have to say. Your blog readers are probably more eager, in many cases, than are readers of your mass emails.
I could go on and on about the merits of blogs. If you are promoting any product or service online, you owe it to yourself to check out what can be done with blogs and RSS.
