What is Presbyopia? At first I am blurred about what its mean and later I found it it is inside me. Presbyopia usually occurs beginning at around age 40, when people experience blurred near vision when reading, or working at the computer. Blurred vision is very annoying experience. I am a nearsightedness since I was 15 and now at 44 going to 45 I am farsightedness or developing Presbyopia. It is the sign of old age my friend.
I am confuse now. Am I experiencing Presbyopia or farsightedness (hyperopia), where both causes near vision problems but for different reasons. The eye specialist said Presbyopia is caused by an age-related process. This differs from astigmatism, nearsightedness and farsightedness, which are related to the shape of the eyeball and are caused by genetic and environmental factors. So as for my case, who is at mid forties, Presbyopia is the answer.
This my latest score card on my eyes!
So the answer to my problem is I have to wear a new eyeglasses with bifocal lenses which are the most common correction for presbyopia. Bifocal means two points of focus: the main part of the spectacle lens contains a prescription for distance vision, while the lower portion of the lens holds the stronger near prescription for close work.
But I do not want to use the bifocul glasses as it has a line between those areas and that is why I go for Progressive Lenses. Why progressive lenses? You may be maturing, but “mature” doesn't have to mean “old” he he he!
If you are a 40-something who has trouble reading fine print, you have more options than just the lined bifocal lenses your parents wore.
Progressive lenses, sometimes called “no-line bifocals,” eliminate the visible lines of traditional bifocals and trifocals and hide the fact that you need reading glasses. No one else has to know whether you are wearing glasses just for fashion — or because your arms have “grown too short” for you to see up close!
So guys for a mature guy, I repeat not “old”, I bought a new pair of eyeglasses late November and on Saturday my new gadget is ready. Here it is……
